Attorney Oronda Smith is the founding and managing member of O.M. Smith Law Group, LLC.  She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and received her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from South Texas College of Law, in Houston, Texas.  Oronda currently practices in the areas of Real Estate Transactions and Litigation, Estate Planning and Administration, Probate matters including Guardianship and Conservatorship, and Business Law. She has closed thousands of Real Estate Transactions and is well-respected by numerous title companies and lenders.  In addition, Attorney Smith has represented various types of clients in court, from individuals to corporate entities.  She has settled and filed numerous claims on behalf of her clients and has been successful in obtaining favorable results and outcomes.  Attorney Smith is known for her willingness to take the time to truly understand her clients’ goals and to thoroughly explain the process and progress to them.

 

Oronda is licensed in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court and the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.  Atty. Oronda Smith is also a Georgia Registered Mediator and Arbitrator in the areas of Civil Litigation, Domestic Relations, Specialized Domestic Violence, Juvenile Delinquency, and Juvenile Dependency.  She is a member of numerous prestigious professional organizations, including: American Land Title Association, National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, Metro South Association of Realtors, Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.  Atty. Smith was honored to be the featured Attorney in the February 2013 issue of Atlanta Tribune magazine.

 

In addition to her legal practice, she is the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Carver College, a Bible College in Southwest Atlanta.  She has also served as adjunct professor and Director of Institutional Effectiveness for the college.   She is married to Dr. Willie H. Smith, Jr. and they have one son, Joshua.  Atty. Smith enjoys teaching, serving, and impacting her family, church and community in a meaningful way.
